Hugh Lawrence Buxton, who died 31 October, 2005, aged 69, was a scion of the Buxton Baronets (cr. 1840). He was b. 1936, son of Philip Olaf Buxton, JP (1906-78), by his wife the former Ruth Christian Lawrence (descended from the Lawrence Baronets, cr. 1867); married 1965, Elizabeth Caroline Tilden Whitelocke Abernethy, daughter of D.A. Abernethy, MA, BM, BCh, FRCS, MRCOG, and is survived by her and by a son Guy (b. 1969), and two daughters, Belinda (b. 1967) and Anne (b. 1975).
