The engagement was announced between Dr Johannes Hugi, son of Professor Dr and Frau Hugi, of Neschwil, Switzerland, & Dr Emma Jane Clarissa Dawnay (b. 1964), scion of the Viscounts Downe, daughter of the late Capt. Oliver Payan Dawnay, CVO (1920-88), Private Secretary and Equerry to HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, 1950-56, by his second wife, the former Hon. Iris Irene Adele Peake, LVO, Lady-in-Waiting to HRH The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, 1952-62, daughter of the 1st Viscount Ingleby.
