Lesley-Anne Weir (nee Purdie) wife of Robert Bruce Weir, gave birth to a son, Robert Daniel, 1 December, 2005, at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh.
Robert Weir is the younger son of the Hon Lord Weir and Lady Weir, and Lesley-Anne Weir is the daughter of Mr & Mrs David Purdie.
Mr Weir's father was Senator of the College of Justice in Scotland, and his maternal grandfather was the Hon Lord Cameron, KT.
