_.The Lady Crathorne, who died 24 September, 2009, aged 67, was the wife of the 2nd Baron Crathorne (b 12 Sep 1939), Lord Lieutenant for North Yorkshire. She was the former Sylvia Mary Montgomery, 2nd dau. of Brig Arthur Montgomery OBE, by his wife Feodora Kathleen Alice Dunfee (the actress Jane Baxter), 2nd dau. of Henry Bligh Forde, and marriedthe then Hon Charles James Dugdale, 8 January, 1970. She is survived by her husband, and by a son, the Hon Thomas Arthur John Dugdale (b. 30 Sep 1977), and 2 daughters, the Hon Charlotte Patricia Dugdale (b. 11 Dec 1972), and the Hon Katharine Feodora Nicola Dugdale (b. 1980).

Cicely Rose Nickols (1915-2009)

_.Cicely Rose Nickols (nee Nevill) who died at her home circa 23 Sept
2009, aged 94, was a scion of the noble House of Nevill (Marquesses of
Abergavenny); born 23 June 1915, the daughter of Percy Llewelyn Nevill
(1877-1927), a grandson of the 4th Earl of Abergavenny, by his wife
the former Marjorie Nevill (1886-1945). She married 29 Apr 1947,
Peter Richard Nickols (d 25 Oct 1990), son of Richard Nickols, and had
issue, 2 sons Richard b 1948) & Charles (b 1951) and one dau, Rose (b
1951, twin with her brother Chas).

Earl of Lichfield to marry Lady Henrietta Conyngham

The engagement was announced 23 September 2009, between Thomas William Robert Hugh Anson, 6th Earl of Lichfield (b 19 Jul 1978), only son of the late 5th Earl of Lichfield (1939-2005) by his wife the former Lady Leonora Grosvenor, dau of the 5th Duke of Westminster, & the Lady Henrietta Tamara Juliet Conyngham (b 1976), elder dau of the 8th Marquess Conyngham (b 23 May 1951) by his 1st wife the former Juliet Anne Kitson.


Lord Lichfield, kinsman of HM The Q, is a grandson of Anne Ferelith Fenella Bowes-Lyon (HRH Princess Georg of Denmark, d. 1980), 2nd dau. of Hon John Herbert Bowes-Lyon (by his wife Hon Fenella Hepburn-Stuart-Forbes-Trefussis, 2nd dau. of Charles John Robert [Hepburn-Stuart-Forbes-Trefusis], 21st Baron Clinton), 2nd son of Claude George [Bowes-Lyon], 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne.

Lord Nicholas is the 2nd son of Field Marshal HRH The Prince Edward
George Nicholas Paul Patrick Windsor, 2nd Duke of Kent (b 1935), by
his wife the former Katharine Lucy Mary Worsley (b 1933).

Lord Frederck Windsor marries Sophie Winkleman

The marriage took place, 12 September, 2009, at Hampton Court Palace, between the Lord Frederick Michael George David Louis Windsor ( b London 6 Apr 1979), only son of HRH Prince Michael George Charles Franklin of Kent (b 4 Jul 1942), by his wife the former Baroness Marie-Christine Frn von Reibnitz (b.15 Jan 1945), and Sophie Lara Winkleman (b London 5 Aug 1980), daughter of Barry L.D. Winkleman (b Islington 1939) by his wife the former Cindy Black.

The bride's father married 1stly, at Hendon, 1968, Evelyn Pollard, and had issue, Claudia Anne I. Winkleman (b London 1972. He married 2ndly, at Camden, 1979, Cynthia J. Black.

The bride is a granddaughter of Leonard Winkleman who married at Hackney in 1935, Fanny Goldstein.

The abovementioned Eve Pollard married 2ndly, at Islington, 1979, Sir
Nicholas Markley Lloyd (born 9 June 1942) is a British former
newspaper editor and broadcaster. Lloyd graduated from St Edmund Hall,
Oxford. He edited the Sunday People from 1982 to 1983, then moved to
edit the News of the World for a year from 1984, and finally edited
the Daily Express from 1986 until 1995.Lloyd received a knighthood in
the 1990 Prime Minister's Resignation Honours. He presented a
breakfast show on LBC 97.3, a London radio station, from 1997 to 1999.
Since 1996, he has been the chairman of the Brown Lloyd James public
relations consultancy.

David is the son of Mr & Mrs Michael Mattinson, of Eastbourne, and Harriet is the daughter of Sir Stephen Harry Waley-Cohen, 2nd Baronet (b. 1946) & Mrs Rob Dixon, of London.

Robert Ralph Baptist Pridden

Georgina Rose Alianore Pridden (née Lethbridge b. 1980), wife of
Benedict John Anthony (Ben) Pridden, (b. 1973), gave birth to a son,
Robert Ralph Baptist, 29 Aug 2009, a brother for Lottie and Taggie.

Ben Pridden is the only son of Mr Robert Pridden, of Exton, Rutland,
by his wife the former Lady Maria Noel (b. 1951), and Georgina is the
eldest daughter of Sir Thomas Periam Hector Noel Lethbridge, 7th
Baronet, (b. 1950), of Newmarket, Suffolk, and of Susan Lady
Lethbridge, of Milverton, Somerset (nee Susan Elizabeth Rocke, of
Maryland, United States).


The Priddens are cousins, albeit several times removed. Georgina's
paternal grandmother, Evelyn Diana (wife of the 6th Baronet) is a
daughter of Lt-Col Francis Noel, of the Earls of Gainsborough. Ben is
a grandson
maternally of the 5th Earl of Gainsborough.

Death of John Wellesley, 47, kinsman of the Duke of Wellington

John Wellesley, who died 29 August, 2009, after a long illness, aged
47, was a scion of the Dukes of Wellington. He was b 1962, son of Maj
Richard Wellesley, MC (1920-84), by his 1st wife the former Ruth Haig
Thomas (b 1924), descended from the Earls of Normanton, dau of Peter
Haig-Thomas, by his wife Lady Alexandra Agar.

John's paternal grandfather was Lt-Col Lord George Wellesley
(1889-1967), a yr son of the 4th Duke of Wellington (1949-1934) and a
brother of the 5th Duke (1876-1941), and of the 7th Duke (1885-1972).


John Wellesley married in 1994 (Sarah) Catriona Grantham Duncan, dau.
of Dr. David Duncan, and he is survived by her and by a son, Thomas
Richard H. Wellesley, who was born in 2000.

The Hon Paricia Garnett Borwick, who died at her home 21 Aug 2009, was the widow of the Hon Robin Sandbach Borwick (b. 22 Mar 1927; d. 26 Nov 2003) scion of the Barons Borwick, and was a dau of the life peer the Baron McAlpine of Moffat, by his wife Ella Mary Gardner Garnett, 2nd dau. of James Gardner Garnett, of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She marr. 2 Dec 1950, and leaves issue:- (i) (Geoffrey Robert) James Borwick, who succeeded his uncle as 5th Baron Borwick in 2007; (ii) the Hon Richard David Borwick, granted the style and precedence of the younger son of a Baron by Royal Warrant 2008 (b. 24 Jul 1960), mar. 1983 Nicole D Kerr, dau. of S/Ldr Ronald M Kerr MVO, of Westwinds, Mouldford, co. Oxford, and has issue; (i) the Hon Judith Patricia Borwick, granted the style and precedence of the daughter of a Baron by Royal Warrant 2008 (b. 13 Jun 1952), mar. 27 Nov 1971 Padraic Desmond Curry-Towneley-O'Hagan, only son of Capt Ian Desmond Curry-Towneley-O'Hagan.

Death at 91 of Lord Buxton of Alsa

The Baron Buxton of Alsa, KCVO, MC, DL died 1 September 2009, after a short illness. He was 91.
Life peer Aubrey Leland Oakes Buxton was b 15 Jul 918, scion of the Buxton Baronets, son of Leland William Wilberforce Buxton and Ada Mary Oakes, and was educated at Ampleforth College, Yorkshire and Trinity College, Cambridge. Buxton served in the Royal Artillery in the Second World War, having been decorated with the Military Cross in 1943.From 1958 to 1988, he was a Director of Anglia Television. In 1964, Buxton was Extra Equerry to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and in 1972 High Sheriff of Essex. He became Deputy Lieutenant of Essex in 1975 and held this office until 1985.On 11 May 1978, he was created a life peer as Baron Buxton of Alsa, of Stiffkey in the County of Norfolk. In 1996, Buxton, was invested as a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order. Lord Buxton of Alsa has been married twice; to Pamela Mary Birkin, daughter of Sir Henry Birkin, 3rd Baronet on 14 November 1946, and after her death in 1983, to Kathleen Peterson on 16 July 1988. He has six children by his first wife, four daughters and two sons.

Death of Queen's old friend the Countess of Westmorland

Jane Countess of Westmorland, who died 1 September, 2009, was one of the Queen's oldest friends and widow of HM's Master of the Horse, the 15th Earl of Westmorland.

She was born Jane Barbara Findlay, 25 September 1928, a daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Roland Lewis Findlay, 3rd Baronet, by his wife the former Barbara Joan Garrard.

She married 20 Jun 1950, David Anthony Thomas Fane, 15th Earl of Westmorland, GCVO (1924-1993), son of Lt.-Cdr. Vere Anthony Francis St. Clair Fane, 14th Earl of Westmorland by his wife the former Hon. Diana Lister (see Ribblesdale B, Ext). Her home was The Old Vicarage, Badminton, Gloucestershire.

Her husband was a Lord in Waiting to HM and served as Master of the Horse from 1978 to 1991 when he retired due to ill health.

She is survived by two sons, (i) Anthony David Francis Henry Fane, 16th Earl of Westmorland (b 1 Aug 1951); and (ii) the Hon. Harry St. Clair Fane (b 19 Mar 1953), and (i) the Lady Camilla Diana Fane (b 26 Dec 1957).

David Arthur Wigram Money 1912-2009

David Arthur Wigram Money, who died 17 July 2009 aged 97, was a
favourite accompanist of the versatile opera and concert singer Ian
Wallace; he was also a Daily Telegraph music critic for 35 years. He
was born at Chelsea on January 4 1912, the eldest son of Maj.Gen. Sir
Arthur Wigram Money, KCB, KBE, CSI (d 1951), by his wife the former
Euphemia Mabel Drummond (1881-1964) scion of the Earls of Perth, and
of Beauclerk descent from the Merrie Monarch, Charles II. He married
1938, Diana Stone (d 2007). & had issue, (i) Christopher Money (b
1941), (ii) Lucilla Money, (b 1943), (iii) Josephine Money (b 1945),
and (iv) Charlotte Money, (b 1950).

Buckingham, by his wife Hon Susan Silence North (granted the title, rank and precedence of the daughter of a Baron by Royal Warrant in 1947), 2nd dau. of Hon Dudley William John North MC (by his wife Dorothy Donne, dau. of Capt J R Donne), 1st son and heir app. of William Frederick John [North], 12th Baron North; mar. (2)1973 Suzanne Adrienne Byrne, 1st dau. of Alan Gray Byrne, of Rose Bay, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. H leaves issue by his 2nd wife, (i) the Hon Charles Gray Compton Cavendish (b. 11 Nov 1974), who now succeeds to the peerag. He mar. 15 Jun 2002 Sarah Elizabeth Dawson, dau. of Bruce Dawson, of London, and has issue; (ii) the.Hon William George Gray Cavendish (b. 13 Apr 1980)

Service of Celebration of his life at the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Preston Candover, Friday 4th September.
