Death of Viscountess Galway, wife of 12th peer

The Viscountess Galway, wife of the 12th holder of the peerage, died 31 May, 2010.

She was Fiona Margaret, the dau of Capt Percival Walter de Putron TAYLOR of Sooke, BC, Canada and married the present (12th) Viscount GALWAY in 1944. They had issue including and only son who is ha to the title.

Isabella Rose Brennan

_Rebecca Brennan (nee Usher-Smith) wife of the Hon Daniel Brennan,
eldest son of Lord Brennan, QC, and Lady Brennan, of Bibury,
Gloucestershire, gave birth to a dau, Isabella Rose, 10 June 2010.
Rebecca is a dau of Mr and Mrs Stephen Usher-Smith, of Bath.

Death of the Hon Mrs Julian Berry

_The Hon Mrs Julian Berry, who died 13 June, 2010, was the widow of
Col the Hon Julian Berry, OBE, JP,DL (1920-88), a scion of the
Viscounts Camrose (Peerage UK 1941).

She was (Janet Frances) Denise Rowan-Thomson, elder dau of Maj (John)
Leslie Rowan-Thomson, of Sayers, Great Somerford, Wilts, and married
Julian Berry, youngest son of the 1st Viscount Camrose, in 1946. He
died in 1988. She elaves issue, a son, Simon Ewert Berry (b 1955), and
a dau, Caroline (b 1948), wife of James Wagg (descended from the
Horlick Baronets).


A Thanksgiving Service takes place at St Mary's, Herriard, 15 July
2010.

George Arthur Wingfield-Stratford-Johnstone

Elizabeth Wingfield-Stratford-Johnstone, wife of Dickon Wingfield-
Stratford-Johnstone (b 1978), gave birth to a son, George Arthur, 27
May, 2010,a brother for Alfred Crocker, who was b 23 January, 2008.

Dickon is the 2nd son of Esme Edward Melville Wingfield-Stratford-
Johnstone (b 1950), by his wife the the former
Sara Birch Reynardson, scion of that LG family. Dickon's paternal
grandfather, Lt-Col Norman David Melville Johnstone, MBE, late the
Grenadier Guards, married in 1950, as her 2nd husband (her 1st was
Maj. Richard Wrottesley afterwards the 5th Baron Wrottesley), Roshnara
Barbara Wingfield-Stratford (b 1916), scion of the Viscounts
Powerscourt, dau of Esme Cecil Wingfield-Stratford (1882-1971).

Death of the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon

The 15th Duke of Hamilton & 12th Duke of Brandon died on June 5, 2010. He was 71.

The duke was Premier Peer of Scotland & Hereditary Keeper of the Palace of Holyrood House. He bore the Crown of Scotland before the Queen at the opening of the first Scottish Parliament in 1999.

Angus Alan Douglas Douglas-Hamilton was born September 13, 1938, eldest son of the 14th duke by his wife the former Lady Elizabeth Ivy Percy, daughter of the 8th Duke of Northumberland, of Alnwick Castle.

The Old Etonian duke served as Flight Lt (RAF), and was buried in his uniform; he was a test pilot with Scottish Aviation, and member of The Queen's Body Guard for Scotland (Royal Company of Archers).

He married firstly in 1972 (div 1987) Sarah Jane (died 1994), dau of Sir Walter Scott, 4th Baronet; married secondly, 1988, Jillian (nee Robertson), former wife of (i) Martin Page and (ii) Edward Hulton, son of Sir Edward Hulton; and married thirdly, 1998, Kay Carmichael, who survives him, together with his children from his 1st marriage. His elder son, Alexander Douglas, Marquess of Douglas & Clydesdale, who was born March 31, 1978, now succeeds to his father's honours.

Birth of a daughter for the Earl and Countess of Ulster

_The Countess of Ulster (nee Claire Alexandra Booth), wife of Alexander Patrick Gregers Richard Windsor, styled Earl of Ulster (b 1974), son and heir of HRH The Duke of Gloucester by his wife the former Birgitte Eva van Deurs, gave birth to a daughter, the Lady Cosima Rose Alexandra Windsor, 20 May, 2010, a sister of Xan, styled Baron Culloden.
